DODD, Eva Norris (nee Wheeler) On January 19, 2013, in Penticton BC, Eva passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 94. Eva was born December 30, 1918, in Greenwood, BC. She spent her early years in Rock Creek, where she met Albert Dodd. They were married in 1940. After many moves, they ended up in Penticton. Eva and Albert had three children, Barry, Sandy and Tom. Eva loved to spend time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and siblings were always welcome in her home. There was usually a game of crib, yahtzee, or some other card game waiting for her to win. Eva was often the host of many family gatherings. During the summer, everyone went to "Nan's", "Gramma Dodd's", "Auntie Eva's" or "Mom's". There was always lots of family, good food, cold beer and many laughs to be found there. MARREN, Michael Kenneth July 28, 1928 - Jan. 10, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband and father. Mike passed away in the presence of his family on Jan. 10, 2013 at the Santouri Hospice in Calgary after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of more than 55 yrs Sarah, his children Patricia, Kevin (Betty), Maureen (Cliff) and Howie as well as 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way. He also leaves behind 2 sisters, Mildred and Margie in Ontario. He is described by his close friends as a man known for his work ethic, honesty and humour. A great friend and no better miner to go underground! We, his family, will remember his beautiful blue eyes and warm smile and how he loved to have us all around him. HERMAN, Eva June (nee: Hurlbert) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 19, 2013. Born June 11, 1930 in Rouleau, Saskatchewan, her family moved to Trail, BC in 1942. In 1949 she married Don, who then took her, in 1956, on a wild venture to live in northern BC. They remained for 17 years near Chetwynd. Eva's city life and dream came true when they moved to Kelowna in 1973. Eva's family meant the world to her. She was a very private lady and a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. Her celebration of life will certainly be in heaven where she is reunited with her husband and soul-mate Don; son David; grandson Jeff and most of her immediate family members. JOHNSTON, Harold Robert Sept. 26, 1913 - Jan. 19, 2013 Harold passed away peacefully at the age of 99. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Arlene (95), son Terry and his wife Gillian, granddaughter Valerie and husband Dori, grandson Michael and wife Sheri, great- grandchildren Jessica Dennison and fiance Phill Screeton, Liam Dennison and Emily and Ethan Johnston as well as many nieces and nephews. She has gone to rejoin the love of her life, Odell, her husband of 42 years and to dance again with him for eternity. Margaret was born near Parkside Saskatchewan on June 23rd 1917, the second daughter of Harry and Lillian Rogerson from Leask, Saskatchewan and the fourth of seven children. She is survived by her four sons, Garry (Maria) of Edmonton, Vince (Fay) of Edmonton, Tom (Jane) of Vancouver and Brent (Mary Ann) of Penticton, 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was a 23-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Signal Corps, and spent several years working as a Tugboat Engineer. Richard was an avid bridge player, wine maker and outdoorsman. He is predeceased by his parents, four brothers and his son Randy. He is survived by his children BJ, Rick and Ron, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother Vernon and sister Helen, nephew Rick (Karon and RJ), numerous nieces and nephews, and dear friend Lorene Harris.
