ANNAN, David Robert June 18, 1936 - May 29, 2013 David Robert Annan, age 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 29, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Elizabeth (Betty), son Russell of Kelowna, BC, daughter Valerie Rosscup (and Stephen) of West Richland, WA, and his grandchildren Jordan, Taylor, Drey and Connor. David and Betty met at the age of 16 in Vancouver, BC, fell in love and married in 1957 and built their home and life together. David was a devoted, generous and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Through all our family's joys and heartaches he always showered us with unending love and support. His love of life and optimism was apparent in everything he did and the way he lived his life. He was a warm and friendly person who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. He was everything we looked to be and more and we were privileged to have been able to love him for so many years. David had a successful career spanning almost 40 years at BC Telephone Company as the Antenna Supervisor in Prince George. He loved his job and especially the people he worked with. He considered his crew his friends and enjoyed spending many hours both on and off the job with them. Both David and Betty loved the outdoors, especially their cabin at Fraser Lake, where they spent most of their weekends and summers entertaining their family and friends who were always welcome. There were so many wonderful memories of fishing, waterskiing, boating and just sitting on the beach or the deck of the cabin that they built together (Dad loved his tractor). David would want everyone to know how much he truly enjoyed and appreciated them and thank them all for being a part of his life. We will miss him dearly and cherish our memories of him always. Dad, you are forever in our hearts, we will remember your laughter, your smile and your remarkable courage to fight until the end. We know you'll be watching over us. Our family would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Kelowna Hospice for their outstanding care and kindness. A donation can be made in David's memory to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association. A Celebration of David's Life will be held on July 6th, 2013 at 2:00pm at Dave and Betty's home in Kelowna. Please come and spend the day with us.
