KAYER, Monica Tamara Of Kelowna, BC passed away at Kelowna General Hospital on November 30, 2012, at the age of 45, with her family at her bedside, after a brave and courageous two year battle with cancer. She leaves behind to mourn her loving husband Stephen; her Mom and Dad; sisters Evelyn (Pat), Jacqueline (Leslie) and her three nephews: Courtney, Tyrell and Rylan. She was born in Swift Current, SK to Anne and Tony Mulders on December 30, 1966. Monica never had a problem keeping herself busy with her various hobbies and activities, which included astronomy, photography, lampworking, jewelry making and of course her deep affection she had for her beloved Beagles. She will forever be remembered as the 'Beagle Lady' in the neighbourhood. Your journey here is over, free from the pain and suffering that you have had to endure. CONLEY, VERA JESSIE Passed away peacefully on December 1, 2012 in Penticton, BC at the age of 87 years. Vera will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Kenneth Allen Conley, children: Roy Allen (and partner) Conley of Timmins, Ont, Grant Kenneth (Jackie) Conley of Calgary, AB, William George (Janis) Conley of Penticton, BC, Tonja Kathreen (Scott) Conley of Vancouver, BC, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Vera was born in London, England and came to Canada as a War Bride in 1945. She settled in Copper Cliff, Ontario where she raised three sons and a daughter. She started the Copper Cliff chapter of the Girl Guides of Canada, was a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a United Church Sunday School teacher. She was a long time Red Cross volunteer. After retiring, Vera and Ken settled in Penticton in 1983. Vera was famous for her Peanut Cookies among family and friends. At the age of 3 her family moved to Valparaiso, Saskatchewan, where her father and mother, Gus and Marie Frank began to farm. They resided on the family farm a number of years until Clarence, the youngest, took over the farm. Alma met Albert Lehr in the Graburn district of southeastern Alberta on the farm of her cousin, Menno Frank and Alberts' sister, Frieda Frank. She married Albert Lehr on November 26, 1943 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan and then became part of the family business, Lehrs' Hardware in Walsh, Alberta.The hardware store was closed out in 1969 when they moved first to Kelowna, BC and then to Burnaby, BC were she resided until her passing.
