COWIE On December 19th, 2013 Helen Cowie of Kelowna, BC passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her two daughters. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 26, 1928, to her parents William and Petronella Franchuk. She was predeceased by her first husband Charlie Cowie and recently by her second husband Earl Wm. Matheson. Survived by her loving family, daughters Patricia (Wade), grandson Christopher (Jennifer), great granddaughters: Alyssa & Kaitlyn; granddaughter Kimberly (Dwayne), great grandchildren: Brianna and Logan; daughter Sandra (Larry) and granddaughter Kelsey. Also survived by her brother Henry Franchuk of Winnipeg and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Family was most important to our Mom; she cherished every moment of being a sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the St. Paul's United Church family and the Kelowna General Hospital Auxiliary. Her daughters wish to thank the staff at Millcreek for their kindness, support and loving care. A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held on Friday, January 10th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., St. Paul's United Church, 3131 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Millcreek Baptist Housing, 1450 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC, in memory of Helen.
