holt, kyra kristine jan. 29, 1...
HOLT, Kyra Kristine Jan. 29, 1974 - Apr. 26, 2013 It is with great regret that we announce the untimely death of Kyra Kristine Holt. Predeceased by her stepdad, Dr. Gordon Boyd and her brother Sean, she will be forever cherished by her beloved son Jake MacDonald, mother Eva Boyd, father John MacDonald, brother Christopher (Jessica), and sister Shannon, as well as many aunts and uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews who adored their Auntie Kyra. Each Thanksgiving our family gathered, and Kyra was both a vibrant and intelligent contributor to our many lively conversations as well as someone who was content working in the background preparing wonderful dishes and ensuring that everyone was looked after. Kyra was born in Smithers and her school years were spent in Terrace. She arrived in Penticton in 1994 and worked as a warehouse manager for Swagman, later as an office manager for Action Security, and for the past 5 years, as a ward clerk at the Penticton Regional Hospital. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed snowshoeing, hiking and golf. In her spare time, she provided hair care for many of her friends. Kyra was very authentic and down-to-earth, and a great person to have a heart to heart with. As a result, she touched the lives of many. Our family has been comforted by the outpouring of condolences. She is sadly missed by her many friends and colleagues and will be remembered as someone with a wonderful smile, a zest for living, and a strong work ethic. We love you, Kyra and we are given strength by the certainty that you are in a wonderful place where there are no tears and where there is simply love, peace and serenity. We wish that you could have been with us longer but we respect God's decision to take you back. Services in celebration of Kyra's life will be held at the First Baptist Church, 1498 Government Street, Penticton, BC on May 3, 2013 @ 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the S.P.C.A. in honour of Kyra's love for dogs.
