MUSGRAVE, JOHN BRENT: WITH SAD...
MUSGRAVE, JOHN BRENT: With sadness, we announce the death of John B. Musgrave at home in Oliver on August 11, 2015. His selflessness, strength of character, special humor and kindness of heart towards people and animals earned him the respect of friends, family, and everyone who was blessed to know him. His memory will stand as an example to many that greatness is not found in possessions, power, position or prestige. It is discovered in goodness, humanity, service, humbleness and character. John was a brilliant man with integrity and heart. He attended, worked for, or volunteered at: The University of Chicago, University of California (Berkeley and San Diego), Yale University, University of Alberta; En'owkin Centre, Osoyoos Indian Band, Hands Across the Americas, Slave Lake Municipal Library, Alberta Vocational College, Edmonton Space Sciences Foundation, Space Science Centre, Provincial Museum of Alberta Mobile Planetarium Project, University of Alberta Pharmacology Dept.; Okanagan Historical Society and Okanagan Foster Parents Association. John also worked closely with and lived in remote native and Metis communities and government agencies. There are countless other individuals, groups and boards who appreciated his dedication and service. To the end, John was a multi-talented teacher, consultant and writer. He used more than just his academic background to develop meaningful instructional materials and technical manuals. He edited, researched and published professionally and was also Secretary and Keeper of Notes on the OFPA Board. John was predeceased by his mother, Frances Wein ("Toy") Musgrave and his father, Maurice Wuchter Musgrave. He is survived by his beloved wife, Consuelo Sanclemente Musgrave; sisters, Frederica Musgrave and Jacqueline Brookshire; nieces, cousins and many more extended family. As per John's own wishes, there was no formal service. The family asks in remembering him, you instead give that time to celebrating your own family and friends. Special thanks to friends, church, neighbours and members of the Okanagan Foster Parents Association who supported us in this time of sorrow. Condolences may be shared by visiting www.everdenrust.com
