Sheila was born in Winnipeg and grew up enjoying school and playing sports, especially hockey and baseball, and of course getting into mischief with her brother and sister. She loved going to the beach, in particular Grand Beach, where she spent countless care free days having fun in the sun as a child, going to the boardwalk dances as a teenager and returning with her Family after she married Gordon. Sheila loved spending time with her family, especially her 2 granddaughters, Danni and Jennifer and her grandson, James. Later in life she cherished those memories and loved sharing them with her family and friends. Sheila was an amazing wife, mother, nana and friend, she loved her part time job at Sears where she worked for many years. She was an avid curler, loved going to bingo with her friends and was a truly devoted hockey mom. She loved music and could always be seen on the dance floor with a big smile on her face. After moving to Kelowna when Gordon retired, she spent her days enjoying the mild weather, watching her curling and spending time with friends. She always looked forward with great anticipation to coming back to Winnipeg and spending time with her family. Sheila touched so many lives with her warm heart and soft, caring nature, being in her presence meant lots of fun, laughter and sharing of stories. Sheila will be sadly missed but always remembered as someone who shared her love and wisdom with so many. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and support staff in Kelowna who assisted Sheila during her time of need, especially Dr. Mace, who went above and beyond, the in home Palliative Care team who treated her with so much love and respect and the Kelowna branch of the Red Cross.
