DRYHURST, Frederick It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather on Dec 11, 2012 at the age of 93. Fred is survived by Ruby, his loving wife of 65 years; his children, Cheryl (Larry) Ewert, Susan (Lance) Houle; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Marguerite Dryhurst; 1 brother-in-law, Mike Foster; numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 7 sisters, 4 brothers, 1 daughter, Heather, 1 granddaughter Stacey. Fred was born in Forward, Saskatchewan on February 9, 1919 as a first generation British-Canadian. As part of a large family he endured many character-building difficulties during the Great Depression in the 30's. Fred proudly served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force at home and in Europe during the Second World War. During his time in England he met his beautiful bride, Ruby.
